My name is Erika and I am absolutely, hopelessly, and irretrievably in love with food. When life kicks me in the teeth, food is my first refuge and my last resort. My first thought in any emotional situation is “Where can I get some ice cream? I’m hungry!” And this blog is my serious attempt to try and reign in that impulse so that I can lose weight - but more importantly so I can get healthy.

A few years ago I first got the opportunity to go to Hawaii and experience first hand the sights, sounds and smells of Polynesia. What really captivated me, however, was the food. So many flavors, such diverse tastes, and such fresh high quality ingredients. When I came home, everything tasted so… BLAND.
So I’ve been collecting cookbooks and trying to find ways to bring a tiny bit of that taste home to the mainland. This blog is my attempt to capture that island magic and share it with all of you!
