I'm a mid-fifties small business owner living on the Leeward Coast of Oahu, Hawaii. I provide termite inspections for the real estate market, am a community theatre supporter and read entirely too many books. I blog about life in Hawaii, about growing up in the South, and about some of the interesting people who have wandered in and out of my daily life. My readers have called me a good story-teller. I frequently feature photo essays and game reviews on skeet's stuff. I share recipes from the New Orleans kitchen of my youth as well as the local foods that Hawaii loves. My boy has grown and gone, so my dog plays a stand-in role for the mothering instinct that just won't go away. My life is very cluttered with stuff, with ideas with thoughts and dreams. My blog was started in an attempt to bring order to the chaos. It hasn't done that. Indeed, it's bought additional distractions in the form of new friends, new sites to visit, new things to learn every day. that's okay. I've discovered that I kind of like things just the way they are.
