Last year I bought holiday cards to be sent out to close friends but I wasn’t able to mail it. Such a great procastinator! This year, I already set my mind to mail those cards so it could serve its purpose. I actually need more than a couple of cards because we gained some friends over the year and they are such a blessing to us so I can’t think of a better yet cheaper way of thanking them for sharing their lives to us but to send our holiday greetings to them.

Thirdie turned one month

Thirdie turned one month old last Nov. 12 and we celebrated this special day with a Dulce de Leche cake roll from Goldilocks. Now we have additional reason to buy cake often and that is to celebrate the monthly birthday of our cute little puppy – Thirdie!

What the….?! I made a post entitled “Busy Month” the other night and it was the time when my host was transferring my account to another server. To complete the process, technical support asked me to change the nameservers to the new one. Then after I published the post (did I really publish it?), I submitted it for verification and received this error “cannot get contents of supplied URL”. I got the same error upon submitting another post from another blog so I asked my host to check on the issue. They told me it may be because the domain is under the process of propagation so I need to wait for 72 hours to complete it. Yesterday, submission of the post for another blog is successful but the one from this blog is still failed. What’s happening? I am suspecting there may be a problem with the transferring of my files to another server but why to this blog only? I got more than a couple of posts submitted from other blogs and all worked well. I reminded myself, “I need to wait for 72 hours”.

After a couple of failed attempts last night, I need to think out of the box so I decided to check on the post this morning and do not wait for 72 hours. Guess what I discovered? No post entitled “Busy Month” was published! It should be the latest post published. Why I didn’t noticed it when I am checking on my blogs from time to time? I am so confident that it was published. If it wasn’t published, it should be under DRAFTS but I can’t find it there. Now that’s the reason why I get the same error over and over again. It’s not because of the transfer of my host’s server and changing of nameserver but because the post really DON’T EXIST. Bummer!

I couldn’t remember the exact words of my “lost post” but it is about recollecting that this was one of the busiest months in my previous job in preparation for the changing of the security agency. It’s a busy month collecting security agencies’ folio that includes their permits, insurance quote or the surety bond; making comparative analysis; attending series of meetings; preparing the contract, doing the orientation to the new guards, etc. That was such a busy life on top of the daily HR duties. However, I love it! Personally I miss it now, I miss being in the limelight!LOL

The sky’s so dark yesterday afternoon and heavy rain is threatening to pour anytime. As I check on the dogs outside (to make sure that they won’t be drenched in case heavy rain will pour, I overheard the neighbors preparing their pails and rain barrels as catch basin for the rainwater. The neighbors are really preparing for the coming rain….and it rained..but just for a moment. I doubt if their pails and barrels were full.

Talking about rainwater, I remember my late Mamang who used to collect rainwater to be used in washing our white clothes. According to her, it is good for the whites as they will turn really white unlike when washing with the water from the faucet. Not only for the white clothes but rainwater is also good for washing the hair (as I heard from a friend) thus they have a rain barrel to collect rainwater during the rainy season.

Bridal Invitations

What I missed doing before my wedding is giving out Bridal Shower Invitations. Why? Simply because I didn’t have a bridal shower! Thus, when I received a bridal shower invitation from a highschool friend months ago, I was so thrilled! It’s my first time to be invited in a shower party but I wasn’t able to attend for we are miles apart.

Anyway, another friend is about to tie the knot early next year and she’s now preparing her shower invitations and other details but I have no idea if she has included in her list the rehearsal dinner invitations that she’s giving out to the entourage. I must tell her then that I found unique and exclusive designs available ONLY at Announcements-Shoppe since she’s still looking for a bridal invitation that will suit her preference. Finally! The long wait is over! After months of painstakingly uploading all our photos to my flickr account, just today uploading is finished. Yahoo! So the next photos that will be taken using our cam will be directly uploaded to flickr. It doesn’t need to sit in the computer’s memory and wait for their turn to be uploaded. I’m wrong when I said it will take me forever, it only took me half a century to finish it.LOL. Now the next project is to arrange the photos in sets so I can make them available for public viewing.

I came across a blog that posts photos like the one below. I wonder where’s the source because it wasn’t linked to it. Early this morning, as I was looking for something, I came across this blog with the same photo I saw in one blog. Gladly, link to the source of the photo was placed at the bottom. Oh well, she was so nice to link the photo from the source. Curious as I am, I clicked on the link and I was directed to a blog of a 16-year-old girl who’s doing graphic designs by herself. I browsed through the archive and found this photo….

Guilty? Not guilty your honor. I don’t remember posting a photo or article without linking to the source unless I got the photo or article from my inbox for most of the time forwarded messages don’t have a link to its source. Linking to the source is a big deal no matter how small the photo or how short the article is. It’s a personal property or may I call intellectual property so posting it without credits is a form of stealing. Any violent reaction?

I am contemplating of a nice business to help support in our daily needs should I get tired of working online and blogging. Or, it could be a good business that I can do at home. Aside from the online store of goods from the US (which I and Ate Eunice have planned), what interests me is making Durian goodies. I am not so impressed with the packaging of our existing Durian delicacies here in Davao. It is far different how other places pack their delicacies. It’s world-class! I was so impressed with the packaging of the Pili Nuts from Bicol Region, the Peanut Kisses of Bohol, the Pastel of Camiguin, the Dried Mangoes of Cebu, and other provinces. So if I make my own Durian goodies, the big difference from the existing brands is the packaging. Of course the taste will always be the same. I can make it taste like Lola Abon’s, I assure myself!hahaha. Oh well, that’s a long way to go. Before my Durian candies will be known, I have to have a name first. So a brand name is needed to apply for a business permit. And getting a business permit requires a lot of effort, a lot of documents, etc. that I may need the services of a bookkeeper or a CPA firm like the Kondler CPA to take care of everything. That if I wanted a hassle-free processing. Oh, my bad! Kondler is a Las Vegas cpa firm so it’s impossible for me to get their services. Thanks to Ace for that treat. I wish there’s another one tomorrow.hahaha.
