Mike Filsaime has just launched his Twitter App (congratulations and it’s called TweetGlide) and many other internet marketers are already out promoting it – for two reasons:

1. You can make money out from promoting this tool


2. You can earn credits to have your advertisement displayed in other users’ TweetGlide.

I have downloaded this tool and have got it running for an hour or so. But after that I have decided to stop using it.

Why So? These are my personal views (but to those who are not facing the similar issues, guess it’s just me…)

My Three Reasons For Not Using TweetGlide For Now…

1. The first installation hanged my computer system. After I have installed, my system hanged (and my computer is not that old as yet) and I have to kill the application in order to regain the use of my system. Is it really my system? I tried Tweetdeck and it worked well for me!

2. There is a new requirement for you to get paid and this is to join PayPeopleOnline, in which this service will allow TweetGlide to keep proper tax records. Sounds good and rightful. I have joined and filled in all my particulars. But when it comes to verification of my account – the site failed to acknowledge the verification link and asked me to re-do the application. Which I did… And it failed… First agony! So I will make do without the “make money with TweetGlide“

3. I decided to give the advertising system a try. Two tweets till date (since yesterday) but I am not getting credited for it. So when will my ads be shown to others? Guess not today and tomorrow.

So therefore the above three reasons, guess I’ll not be using TweetGlide for now. This is nonetheless a good twitter application with all the features (making money with it, able to advertise, ability to distinguish your own tweets) in it.

It will be good if they are working for me and I will be glad to do some promotion and make an extra income out of this… Guess for now, Tweetdeck and HootSuite will still be the two best options for me to get into Twitter.

As today’s online marketers and bloggers, there’s seemed to be many tasks to manage like maintaining relationships on your subscribers list, making sure their sites are not down, or to make sure that their split-tests are working to their advantage… These are just some of the many daily task required!

But one thing that I am noticing (after I have set up GuruRSS) is that many bloggers are not maintaining their RSS feeds well, especially those feeds that are redirected to external services like e.g. FeedBurner and FeedBlitz.

What Are RSS Feeds And FeedBurner?

Based on Wikipedia, RSS is most commonly known as “Really Simple Syndication” but sometimes “Rich Site Summary” and is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works - such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format. And FeedBurner, also known as a form of RSS Reader and is one of Google’s free services that many internet marketers are currently using to direct their RSS feeds to. Another common service is FeedBlitz.

So Why Is It Important To Check On Your RSS Feeds?

In simple term, you do not wish to have your Readers missed out on your postings.  Also one factor to note is that most people are using RSS feeds on their RSS Reader or through email delivery to catch up on their daily consumption of Blog Reads rather than going to individual sites to catch up.

Big Shot Blogger like John Chow and Tech Site like TechCrunch are also using their RSS feeds to monetize (Google Adsense and Private Ads) the site. This can just be another source of online income for you.

Therefore this is one good area that you do not wish to miss out on.

What Can You Do To Check On Your RSS Feed

Very simple. If you are using a RSS reader or using those email delivery services provided to read up on other Blogs, you can always subscribe to your own. You may find this uncommon or weird but the benefits are two-fold:

1. You get to read up your own writing again. Check for Grammar or typo errors.


2. If you are able to read through your email and your RSS reader on what you have just posted, this means that your RSS feed is still working fine.

When this area is taken care of, you will know that your Readers are always kept in the loop of whatever you have posted. No more feeling lost!

You also get to keep them close to your heart while you concentrate on other marketing efforts in bring in those revenues!

Lastly, you can always go to GuruRSS and check out if the blogs of the Gurus are still working fine… If not, why not take this chance to make a contact to these affected Gurus and give them a reminder that their feeds are not working.

Testimonial and Reviews: – To sell anything you need to build trust among your customers about your products. Adding short testimonials and honest reviews from the experts is very important to make the landing page successful. You can also add the logos of recognized companies like BBC, CNN to build credibility about your products.

Relevant Images: – There is an old saying that images speak more than 1000 words. Adding relevant images about your products and offers help in conveying your messages in more efficient way with less effort.

Call to Action Link: – The most important part of the landing page is Call to Action Link as the main aim of landing page is to convince users to get the desired action. Remember to add your Call to Action Link at the top where it is easily visible to users and can grab user attention easily. Landing pages with an easily visible call to action link convert much better than others.

Reduce Page Size: – No one like to wait for your landing page to get loaded. Most of the people are still using dial-up connections. Avoid using lot of images and flash on your landing page. You can reduce the load time of your landing page by using image compressors and avoiding iframes.

Measuring Results: - You should keep on measuring the results you are getting from the landing pages. You can use different landing pages for the same offer so that you can know which landing page converts well and what things work much better than others.

August and September have been a very busy month for Online Marketers as one by one release their marketing tools that is supposed to shake the internet marketing scene and help you and me to “really” start making money online!

And most of these releases are being captured at my Review Blog – Dexter Recommends This (it’s new!)

What caught my attention with the release of a product and with this posting is Brad Callen’s Keyword Elite 2 and the many debates around it!

Debate: Free Marketing Tool Is Better – So Why Pay For Brad Callen’s Keyword Elite 2?

So how did this debate come about? Brad Callen’s new release is supposed to reduce keyword research time and also to help you monetize around the keywords, therefore giving you more time in your marketing efforts. A very good marketing tool indeed even for the newbie.

Then there’s the other group who feel that investing that kind of money into Brad Callen’s is a complete waste of money as there are already many few keyword research tools that are totally free and good enough for this purpose. So their remarks are to save it and concentrate on those free ones!

My Personal View…

Free is definitely better in general. But many of these free tools come with limitations and hard to source out. You may have to depend on what people are recommending (usually in the marketing forums) or do your own “google search” and slowly source out, try out and see if it’s what you need. Else… next…

In the midst of all this, a lot of time is wasted…

My Real Life Example – GuruRSS.com

To explain how much time is really wasted, I will share with you my real life example of working with totally free scripts (tools) - GuruRSS.com. Setting it up as simple as it is, is totally free! And to make it personalized and to have features that you wish, you need to source it out on your own or to search in Programming Forums to get what you need. And I am no Programmer!

And I can recall, just to tweak a small part of the CSS style, I need two nights of trial and error before getting it right. Of course you do feel a sense of accomplishment but if you think it positively, I could have used it to blog more, market more in exchange of being rewarded monetarily (ok, I know not everything is about money… but that’s the reason why you are doing online marketing right?)

A Better Alternative – Get A Ready-Made Script or To Outsource and Pay A Programmer To Do Up The Site.

I just need to set aside a certain sum of money and all these can be settled. GuruRSS.com can be up in just a few days and not a few weeks! Notice the irony?!

So Why Do Some People Feel That Free Is The Best…

You can take it that some of these people have all the midas touch and being able to source out all those free marketing tools and work magic around them. But I personally feel that these people have initially committed a lot of efforts in sourcing these tools out and that’s why their voice is loud now.

Ultimatum – You Have To Pay To Have It Your Way And To Beat The Competition!

Face it or not, in current online marketing context, you have to start paying it to have your way and to beat all the competition. To be ahead of the pack and be earning really good money, you have to have the First Mover Advantage!

The few important reasons why these Marketers are out releasing their Tools which you need to pay are because:

• They already know what the market is like and how you can start making use of it and you have to pay to know it!


• They are the main reason why the online market is evolving, e.g. Mike Filsaime and his Butterfly Marketing Script and his ingenious One-Time-Offer (OTO) concept. And again, to learn and put into effect, you have to pay and you know it’s big price ticket for Mike Filsaime’s products!


• You are saving a lot of time and efforts in sourcing out the Free Tools as these Marketers make it their job to compile them into their own version and make it easy for you to work around them!

In Summary – You Decide How You Work Your Business!

There’s really nothing wrong with working around Free Tools. It’s just that you usually need a combination of such to create wonders for your online business. And if you are tight on budget, Free Tools are the way to go!

But do consider the benefits of paying a little to have your way and also if you are serious in your online business and would like to work it big!

And my last piece of advice to you about Paid Products and especially if you invest in many – when you find that the techniques given are rehashed and feel that you have wasted money again… Usually not so and it’s time to think again!

Think Rehashed Information is there because many people usually do not work on these rehashed information which many successful marketers are personally using it to achieve their success!
