Congratulation to Nelbon & Lavernita,  You guys awsome. Nelbon is Stanley Younger brother (Which i photographed his wedding last year december) So this time is his brother.

Lavernita an outspoken and very friendly bride emailed me about their wedding and asked if i can be their wedding photographer , we do not have the time to meet, due to her busy schedules the same goes to nelbon.  So the solution? let’s utilize the internet business concept .

My good friend Ernie finally tie the knot! 11 years as a friend! and now see where you are Ernie, congratulation to you and Stephen! you guys totally exceed my expectation! Stephen i just couldn’t thank you very much, instead of worrying about others more important things during your wedding, you worried about where am i going to sit during the reception day! Oh gosh, i am so touched with your kindness… even though i said, don’t worry about it…and just let the guest occupied all the sit you still get and find me a table to sit and enjoy some of the food.

Me and Bryan personally would like to thank you guys again! very much. Finally, what i always wanted to do…(which is to shoot a wedding at my own home town finally came true.   zarin As my niece bestfriend, They came to know me from this blog. and Philip told Zarin about my blog and asked her to check out my work… at first she asked philip… “Oh benny liew, Sound familiar lah that name, Hmm maybe Sharon uncle…” then, she call my niece to get a confirmation. Been a bad blogger these days. I just don’t have the time to blog and post my latest wedding photos and assignment. Anyway don’t worry, i’ll start uploading photos once my internet connection change from Broadband to Streamyx. Currently my broadband connection is very slow. specially for uploading purpose.

To all brides and grooms to be, year 2010 are now open for booking, All booking made before end of december 2009 will still enjoy with the current pricing on every packages. It is wise to book your wedding photographer  / videographer 6 months ahead from your wedding to avoid disappointment.  Don’t wait till  last minute to do your booking as you might not getting the right person to capture all your moments on your big day.

In guangzhou China, thanks to my wonderful supplier they let me to use their internet connection while my sister doing her shopping .

My first time here…and they said, you won’t be able to see blue sky… 365days a year…in guangzhou. my first day was yesterday and i had 6 hours window shopping and it is really tiring…

and today? its gonna be a long day…and hopefully we will be able to get all the things we want to buy. can’t call out or recieve call lols.. my credit gone zero… before i sleep there was still 20RM balance this morning when i woke up hmmm no credit left? RM0.84 cent.

Missing KK…..there is still more things to explore here….and the best thing i suddenly can speak chinese language? lols what’s new i’m chinese anyway “P.

tried to access Facebook to update my status..but i just can’t and it say… cannot access..don’t know if china blocked facebook access. there is an error here and there…but all chinese language..so i can’t read..

hey, No pics okey..sorry..not here in guangzhou china for a holiday….once i got back will share some pics… for the time being… enjoy surfing my blog.

This wedding was held on january this year. Since then i was so busy and fully occupied with Wedding Photography, Event, Portrait, Birthday party, Family Gathering, Graduation party, and engagement party.

I once again work with my best buddy Bryan Kouju (videography), Philip and Sueyln, this is kinda a very late post but i had a wonderful day working with you guys, the atmosphere and the wedding itself just lovely, Lots of wonderful people, laughter and moments.

I remember petrocelli words ” Philip, you better dance or else no picture ” lols yay, well every wedding is different… very different, the moments, the happiness, the tears, the decoration, the place, the people, the activities, the preparation, the love, the crowd … No wedding are alike…trust… me.. i attended hundreds of wedding…they are all different in many ways.

I just can’t stop looking at those pictures with the rainbow and sunset! you guys are truly blessed. it was almost rain during that day..but to my surprise it didn’t instead god gives you guys, wonderful sunset and beautiful rainbow during your wedding.  I simply couldn’t forget about it.

What else can i say? from France with love.. and as both of you told me.. this is your dreamed wedding.. to have your close family and friends to celebrate the joyous moments and to share the tears of happiness between both of you.

I had fun, enjoyed the foods and had a good laugh and smiles..get a new friends… and learn a few french words .. . Thank you very much for giving me the trust to capture all your wonderful moments.

Mabuhay , that is what Dong said to me right after i reach the airport office, thanks dong, it was a great pleasure to meet you. The experienced being VIP in the airport is priceless. Well it is normal for a photographer to capture whatever scene that capture their eyes.

So right after go out from the airport i see a wonderful sun rays above the cloud. All of these shots are totally unedited and raw from, forget about the dust and black dot appear in the pic below.

The next day, i went to Mall of Asia or also known as MOA, to check out the shopping complex..as it is the biggest shopping mall in asia.

A group of band performing… love the colors and their performance too. This image was taken using my Canon 50D. Yes this is unedited picture. fresh from my camera, and the same goes to the rest of the photos in this post.

Nite view from the hotel i stayed located at greenbelt makati. Nice view and my room was on the 30th floor awesome!

The Photographers Dilemmas – Or Simply a defense Mechanism?

1 – I started my career as a full time photographer on 7th of November 2008, that is my first time going out of Malaysia to do a pre wedding session for a wonderful couple from Sabah+ Sarawak In Bali.

2- Ever since i quit my daytime job, i strive very hard to learn, educate and equip  myself with with as much knowledge as i can about photography.

3- Because i don’t like theory or reading thick book with thousand of pages, i decided to learn photography on my own.

4- I bought Canon DSLR 350D, because i frustrated with my Nikon coolPix 7.1Mp, the super slow point and shoot camera which i finally gave it to my sister. So NOW I lOVE CANON and not NIKON. it is your choice. either you go for the brand / the physical product itself.

5- I never thought i will end up as a Wedding photographer nor i ever dream to quit my job to pursue photography as my full time career, because at that time, i only knew one sabah born Successful photographer + award winning which is Louis Pang

He is one very inspiring photographer who open a lot of eyes to start doing Wedding photography.

6- i was born as a kg boy, my community do not speak english, my mom converse in kadazan with me and my dad malay, while us the siblings converse in malay.  in short i can’t speak chinese language…which is a big lost to me. So at the age of 12 my mom ask me to go to kedai tukang gambar to get my IC photo to be done there.

So the title is TUKANG Gambar and does the word sound delicious to you? NO right. I have to be honest with you that i never really in love or have the dream to be a Tukang Gambar one day, as i always wanted to go to University to pursue my education for a better future. ( Which i did.)

7- being a full time photographer, i browse around the net checking others world top wedding photographer and do a quick scan about their photos quality, and the composition. In short, i always ask myself, HOW DO THESE GREAT PHOTOGRAPHERS, Came up with jaw dropping, eye popping, pin sharp, real colors, vignetting effect, creative edit, fine art photo. I always have these question in my head even until now.

8- So the answer is Photoshop. Long time ago, i always think like this;  if you are good in photoshop, you will produce great images! just as the top notch photographers around the world.

the fact is? I was wrong, there is no way for a photoshop to fix or to create the images, because you create the images inside your camera not from Photoshop to your camera.

So, i was dumb enough to believe photography is just like a graphic designer work. one big slap on my face.

9- now, i understood very well, photoshop is just a complement to create great images (with post processing)

10- very simple, take a look at these question:

a) Will you buy a Working  BMW (3 series) without paint on its body? knowing that you don’t

know how to paint.

b) Is it Okey, To eat at KFC if they don’t put any flavor to their fried chicken? and you still

have to pay the same price as of now?

I believe the Answer is NO.

11- The same goes with photos, is it appropriate to simply post Bad photos / improper photo / or the subject looks real bad / not processed carefully

My answer NO.

because i want my subject to look 200% stunning in their pics, it is as simple as because we all want to look good, beautiful and handsome in photos.

12- Photoshop? A complement to digital photography World, it is a standard that we can’t ignore.

We want to highlight the subject in the picture

We want to create a stunning picture without altering the subject / person in the picture.

We want to create fine art picture.

We want to create good quality product.

13- But i don’t like Photoshop, How? I Don’t know which photographer don’t like photoshop, but if you are one of them, i have to give you my best Salute.

14 – Ask this to yourself ; Is it because you don’t like photoshop or it is  because you do not know how to use it? or you sincerely don’t like photoshop because you just don’t like it?

15 -Because Camera is just a tool, to let you capture great images in normal condition and with   acceptable quality.

Photoshop is the only way for you to create something different, eg, Fine Art digital images.

16- If you are a photographer, it is your choice  whether you want to present the normal picture without post processing to you client, But to me it is like selling a BMW car without paint on its body.

17-  is this a photographer dilemmas or simply a defense mechanism ? You ask yourself.

18- What type of photos do i like? the one already being manipulated, carefully crafted, edited, with a great punch to the photos, and something that can create a timeless images, yes this is my taste.

19- Now let me clear the air, it is your choice, to use photoshop / any photo editing software or not. this is not a must for every photographers. because in the end it will still you yourself who produce the images and not anyone else.

20- at first I thought photography is easy, No, it is not easy, because it require more than just a camera or skills to create art quality images.

21- i read one article in a magazine 5 months ago, and it written like this :

Photography isn’t about having expensive camera, it is about passion and how much love you put into your works, it is about honesty. it required talents and perfect practice to create stunning images. Some people may excel and some people may not. If your talent is there it wont take a decade to discover it,  try this, show your work to your mom, and if your mom didn’t say wow at your work you should stop from doing it.  Almost 80% photographers in the world living in a poor condition due to pricing issue.

It makes me think twice after reading that line, did i made the right decision to quit my job? or should i show my work to my mom which she will surely think and say this to me ” Ha? Apa barang nie?”

well you do the thinking…..
