The hardest part about Christmas is taking down the Christmas tree. Well, at least for me, it is hard, boring and tiring. Would you believe it? I have not taken down even a single ornament from our tree. I'm too tired, busy and lazy to do it just yet. Blogging and playing WII occupies the rest of my day for now. This has to stop. I mean there are more things than just blogging and playing, right? But right now, I'm still very much in the mood for Super Mario so I'm not gonna pay attention to our Christmas tree yet, hehehe. Seriously, a bank's holiday is coming up so I might make use of that to do the things that needs to be done. Hahaay! I'm a self-confessed big time procrastinator. (*smiles)

How are you gonna answer if somebody asks you this question, “Are you happy with the way you look?” Most of us would probably say “No.” People tend to be vain and insatiable at times. While it’s true that simplicity is beauty, we could not deny the fact that if we have the ways and means to enhance ourselves, we are most likely to do it. Take for example the rich and the famous celebrities, despite their innate beauty, most of them would go for scientific beauty enhancements. There’s basically nothing wrong with it as long as you have the money and the guts to do it. Improving oneself physically sometimes helps in building up self-esteem. But of course, beauty enhancement is not for everyone. The cosmetic surgery prices could be the downside for an average person but if you’re really up to doing it, you can find best deals over the internet. MYA Cosmetic Surgery could be the answer for your beauty enhancement and body shaping needs. They have 25 years of cosmetic surgery experience, a full range of surgical and non-surgical procedures to be done by the most experienced and skilled surgeons in the world in an affordable and flexible price packages. I may have been a little late in blogging about the past year 2008 but I really feel the need to make a post about how fruitful my 2008 had been. It was the year when I started blogging and earn some dollars out of it. Jeff said he could recall the times when my face shone with excitement while I was telling him how much I’ve earned on a particular day. It’s not much actually especially that I didn’t have any page ranks and regular readers at that time. The friends that I gained and satisfaction that I got from blogging are what made me persevered. The income was slow but steady. After several months, I was able to save money to buy a laptop. Jeff didn’t want me to pay for everything so we shared the cost of my expensive lappy. As time goes by, blogging and EC dropping have become an addiction. It used to be just a hobby so as to ease away the boredom while I was jobless. Now that I am working and actually earning more than what blogging could give me, I could not do away with it. I am more picky right now with the topics that I blogged, but I still get a decent rate of opportunities especially now that my page rank went higher. I feel so blessed and I’m forever thankful to all my friends, especially Lou, who encouraged me and helped me while I was just starting. The past year was truly fruitful and memorable for me. My life is far from being perfect but the love and blessings that I got from hubby, family, friends and the ONE up above are overwhelming. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions but I strive to be a better wife to Jeff, a better daughter to my parents, a better sister and a better friend. Farewell 2008! I welcome 2009 with anticipation for better things to come!

After a long and tiring day at work, we would all love to curl up and snuggle underneath the sheets and enjoy the comfort of our beds at night. Our bedroom is one of our favorite places at home. It’s like a solace to us especially after a bad day at work. That’s why we don’t want any form of entertainment inside the bedroom. When we retreat in our bed, we want to feel relaxed and at peace and it’s like our ultimate place where we could reassure our love for each other. We had an unwritten rule between us that even if we won't be able to settle our differences before bedtime, we would still go to the same bed together. No sleeping in the couch for either one of us.

Hubby and my family back in the Philippines knew that I could practically occupy the whole bed when I’m asleep. I could literally roll all over the bed space so a queen-sized bed is just perfect for us. Hubby would probably wake up and find me way down under his feet if we would use a king-sized bed. Besides the size, the way a bed looks matter to me as well. We’re actually in a lookout for a new wooden bed and the internet is such an efficient tool. Time4Sleep sells a wide variety of beds of all designs. If you have kids and you think it’s time to put them on a separate bedroom, they also sell beds for children with neat designs. They’re currently having a 45% discount on some selected products so you might want to check them out.

Does anybody here play Super Mario Galaxy in their WII video game? I bet you could relate to the feeling of fun, adventure and excitement while playing this classic but modern Mario adventure. I say classic, because the Mario concept had been there for ages. Modern, on the other hand, because the new Mario takes us to the wonders of the universe and space. I thought it's just for kids but me and hubby got hooked on this game. It's pure fun in all levels. I think our neighbor's small dog was scared or probably surprised, because we heard it bark so loud when I suddenly screamed when the screen says Game Over, hahaha! I love the graphics of this game, it doesn't look ordinary and childish. Hubby and I are almost on the same level but I must admit, he played very much better than me, huhuhu! I enjoyed our WII so much. I never thought that I could squeezed in WII in my schedule. What, with my blogging, EC dropping, Jeff-time bonding, household chores, I'm glad that I still have time to play and have fun. We may have not kids but me and Jeff are the kids in our home, hehehe!

Each of us has our own dream house. Have you lived in one yet? Hubby and I are just renting our place right now but we’re planning to get our own in the near future. We have plans of moving out of Ozark and settling permanently in a place that would work best for both of us. But until he could find a job some place that we both like, I think we would always put off our desire to own a house. Our first would not necessarily be the “dream one”, but we would never give up until we’ll find the ultimate one for us. It doesn’t have to be ridiculously expensive, but I want it to be family-oriented, of exceptional value and functional design. Schumacher Homes is known for that and more. They’ve been in the business since 1992 and they understand that having your own house is a big decision so they want you to be involved in every step of the way. I’ve checked out their web site and sure their houses are awesome but I’m not sure if we would be able to afford it though, hehe! But for people who wants to have their own homes custom-built for them, don’t think twice, trust only the professionals.

Back home, it's customary to prepare even just a little something on the table during Christmas and New Year's eve. I remember mom would be so busy preparing food for the holidays. She'd basically do all the cooking and some cousins in the house but me would help. I must admit I am very lazy when it comes to cooking food especially on a big day like Christmas. Now that me and my sister are here in the US and no mom would take care of the cooking, it's basically my sister who did all the cooking. Well, I did help a bit. We didn't prepare much food anyway since we didn't have many guests but I think the food was too much for the number of people who celebrated with us last Christmas. Anyway, we all enjoyed the food. We had a hearty meal but I didn't eat like a pig like I used to back home during the holidays. Above are the photos of the food. My favorite is the Buko salad and the Ham.

I don’t have kids…yet! It’s our decision not to have little Jeffs and Jenns yet, at least not until after we have our church wedding in the Philippines. Despite the fact that we don’t have little ones at home, I personally like to buy gifts and baby stuff for my nephews and friends’ babies. I know that kids love toys so whenever I get the chance, I would check out toys in stores and sometimes over the internet. I found out a website that sells wonderful toys of all ages. My nephew in Illinois has lots of toys in their house but I didn’t see him play magnetic toys. He’s probably too young for that type of toy but at least I now have an idea on what to give him when he reaches 6 y/o.

I like the ICoaster Magnext that I’ve seen at MegaBrands. Now that I’m thinking about it, I remember that my nephew from the Philippines will be turning 6 this year. I already got him 3 different sets of toys and included it in a Balikbayan box but I guess I’m going to have to get some magnetic toys for him as well. Building toys is something that he has not done and I’m pretty sure he’ll be able to develop his organization skills through play. Magnext ICoaster is a buildable, state-of-the-art rollercoaster and assembling 64 pieces of ICoaster into towers, tracks, sensors, stunts and magnetic elevator is something that he’ll enjoy. I know the holidays are over but it wouldn’t hurt to shop in advance for your child’s birthday or for the next Christmas, would it? Check it out!

It took me a while to post our photos from our Illinois trip. Work just got into me and I think the long drive back and forth was taking a toll on me. Jeff got colds and his eyes are hurting so bad that I also don't feel active around the house. I even have not unpacked our suitcase yet, I'm just too tired to do anything lately. I really hope I won't get sick for I know the chances are big that I'm gonna get whatever Jeff has at the moment. I hate being sick. Du'h! Anyway, here are some of the photos from our Christmas trip to my sister's place. More to come when I get the chance. See yah!

After Christmas, the next big celebration for me and Jeff would be Valentine’s Day. As early as last month, we made plans on how we would like to celebrate the Day of Hearts. We’re going out of town and I’m going to take him out to a nice and fancy Japanese restaurant in Little Rock. He’s maybe making plans of his own on how to make this day special but I have my own share of little surprises for him. I wouldn’t expect him to give me something fancy for that occasion, but I’ve already decided to give him a watch on Valentine’s Day. I got the inspiration from viewing Victorinox Swiss Army watches online. I'm sure he's going to be very surprised.

What would you do if you don't have hot water on cold winter days? Would you shower on an unbearably icy cold water or just let yourself stink by not taking a shower at all? Well, that’s kinda our dilemma in Illinois when my sister’s water heater just quit working on Christmas Eve. Stores are closed on Christmas Day so they had to wait for one day before they can purchase a new water heater tank. Talk about perfect timing, eh! Thank God we didn’t have to celebrate Christmas stinky as we were allowed to shower in Ate Nilda’s house (a Filipina friend). Jeff had helped my BIL and another friend in setting up their new water heater. While they were working on it, he got an idea to give my BIL air tools for next Christmas, as he doesn’t have one and it’ll come handy especially if you’d make home improvements around the house.

Christmas might be for kids but I sure have my share of presents for the holiday season. Besides the stuff that I bought for myself this Christmas, the real surprise was the gifts from my dear hubby. There's actually a funny story behind all our gift-givings. A week before Christmas, I felt so sad and disappointed because I never saw Jeff shopping gifts for me. For two weeks, we went to the mall together and grab gifts for us and for family and friends but I never saw him carry shopping bags so I assumed that he didn't shop at all. I told him that I was disappointed with him and emotionally abuse him one night in bed because of this reason. He didn't say a word. I mean he could have pointed out that he got me something weeks before but he was just too sneaky and very good in keeping surprises but he chose to stay quiet, just let me pour out my baseless accusations and offer a hanky to wipe away my tears. At the back of his mind he thought, I would be greatly surprised when Christmas comes. Yes, he's right! I never thought he got this GUESS purse that I was eyeing for weeks. The best part of all is the WII Sports game console that he gave me. I get to play Super Mario Galaxy. There are stages in the game that's hard to figure out but it was fun though. I love my WII. The remote controller was the best part of it since it's different and easy to use. The WII itself is small so I just set it below our tv stand so I don't have to move it every now and then. Thanks to My Loving Santa for granting all my wishes this Christmas.

I could not believe it! My Google page rank went from 1 to 2! I mean this is good news, right? I'm just a little skeptical because the PR checker on my site still shows PR1 but when I logged into PPP today and check out the status of my blog, it's showing PR2. Yeheey! I'd like to believe PPP is more accurate than my PR checker, hehehe! I actually get opportunities that require PR2 rankings so probably this is for real. Thank you to whoever it is that's updating the rankings. Happy New Year!!!

I remember when I was in Grade 1, our school sponsored a free dental check-up. There was one thing that the dental assistant told me before that kinda got stuck in my head. She said yellow teeth are good because it’s a sign of strong teeth. Hahaha! When I was growing up, I learn that what impressed people are those that have white teeth. Most of us try to achieve that celebrity smile, that’s why people would go out of their way to whiten their teeth. They say the first thing you notice on a person is their smile. So it’s important to maintain that pearly white teeth in order to be confident when we smile.

But for some people, that’s the least of their worries right now. With the economy diving to an all-time low, we would much rather spend our bucks to our much needed expenses. But come to think of it, we do not want to take ourselves for granted. We still want to pamper ourselves once in a while, right? We just want to be careful and be wise with our choices. We don’t have to go to the dentists to have our teeth whiten, there are actually whitening products that work. Celebrity Sexy White might work for you. Celebrity Sexy White Coupon will make you get a 20% discount when you visit their website and start your way to having a celebrity smile.

My nephew, Brennan is one of the lucky kids in this world that's showered with love and gifts on Christmas. My sister and BIL gave him not just one but dozens of toys on this special day. When me and sister were kids, we were never this fortunate when it comes to receiving gifts on special occasions. We didn't take it against our parents though 'coz we understand that our parents' priority is to have food on the table. That's why my sister wants her son to enjoy the things that we were not given the chance to enjoy when we were still kids. One lucky kid! He got a teddy bear which he specifically requests from Santa, a RC dinosaur, a RC helicopter, a toy laptop, a dancing Wubbzy, a Cars-inspired study table, a RC tank, and educational books which he just tossed in the corner after opening it, hehehe. Christmas is sure happy for Bren because Santa came and left gifts for him.

Have you ever thought of quitting your job? This question might sound stupid considering the number of people of who were laid off from their jobs due to the economic crunch. Having an employer does not work for all people. I’ve heard that some people tried to put up their own small businesses because they like to be their own boss. Sounds fun, eh! Well, if you have the funds to start up a small business, why not. Some people even consider retail franchises for the simple reason that the business concept is already there, all you have to worry is how to finance it and how to keep it going. The risk of starting up your business from scratch is minimized so if you think you have the means to venture into franchising, do your research and learn more about it.

As I've shared in my previous posts, we spent our Christmas at my sister's place in Illinois. We had a great time despite the bad weather all throughout the drive up north. Besides the food, opening up gifts on Christmas Day is what makes us all excited. They say Christmas is for kids, so my sister and her husband made sure that Brennan, my nephew will get a lot of toys on Christmas Day. He only asked for a big teddy bear though, but they gave me him that and more and I can really see the excitement on his eyes when he was opening them. The photo below is taken at Jingle's (sis) house.

One more day to go and 2008 will be over. This year has been a very good year for me, Jeff and my family. There’s so much to be thankful for. I welcome 2009 with excitement and anticipation since we’re looking forward to a great big event that’s going to happen by the end of 2009, our church wedding in the Philippines. The countdown to the big day begins. I know it’s so soon to think about the stuff that I’m going to bring back home but I’m sure, it’s going to be a whole lot. I’m thinking of putting most of my stuff and Christmas presents for family and friends in a Balikbayan box but I’m still gonna be needing durable travel luggages for me and Jeff. Zero Halliburton comes to mind. Their stuff are a bit pricey but the quality is excellent so I think it’s gonna be worth it.

I apologize to my readers who had been visiting my page but didn't find an update for quite a while. We were supposed to drive back to Arkansas on Saturday but the weather was sooo bad and hubby had colds, so we had to stay an extra day in Illinois. We didn't mind it though, because my sister and BIL were both nice and accommodating. My sister is a good cook, she always cooks nice meals for me and hubby. We had a great time bonding with my cute and tisoy nephew as well. I'm going to share photos of us for the trip when we get back home. Right now, we're 5 hours away from Ozark, Jeff is still asleep and I'm blogging using the hotel's WiFi connection again. I appreciate the fact that I have a laptop and that WiFi is almost always available in hotels and travel centers. I wish I had the luxury of time to do my Entrecard dropping but obviously, I did not so please please bear with me. I'll visit your blogs again as soon as we reach home today. Ciao!

As of this writing, we are 3 hours away from my sister in Kankakee, IL, but we chose to stop by a hotel to stay overnight because the roads are slick and icy, and it’s getting so dark we don’t want to take chances with our lives. I’m glad that we stopped, now I have the chance to blog and EC drop in the hotel. I know! I’m such an addict. Anyway, got a question for you! Do you like to listen to MP3 songs from your MP3 players and IPODS, or play a game on your Nintendo DS to while away the time when you’re on a trip? This sounds cool, isn’t it? But I bet these stuff are expensive to acquire. The good news is that from my online searching, I came across with a Newsmy Deal that sells MP3 players for only $1.00. Yes, that’s right. It is so cheap it’ll blow your mind.

I’m sure different stores have their own way of attracting more customers especially this Christmas. Unfortunately, some stores don’t take precautionary measures to prevent stampede accidents from happening like what happened to Walmart on their Black Friday sale. When you shop online, you don’t have to put up with crowded rush or even danger of stampede. If you still want to make your last minute shopping, do it online and browse at the wonderful deals of Newsmy.

Oops... Before you confuse yourself of what I'm trying to convey, I am referring to the scent that I am wearing right now. My perfume package arrived today and I love the scent of Vera Wang Princess. To be honest, this is my first ever perfume here in the U.S. I don't go gaga over expensive perfumes so I usually just settle for Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works products. But I ordered 2 perfumes for my mom that I'm going to send in a Balikbayan box so when I told her that I just use cheap stuff but I bought expensive perfumes for her, she told me to buy at least one for myself, hehe! So here I am, enjoying my first ever Vera Wang experience. I don't like strong perfume scents. I am sensitive to overly scented perfumes so I carefully choose Vera Wang because of it's moderate scent for casual use. I'm lovin' it!

Have you remembered how was it like when you say “I do?” I bet that was the most precious moment of your life. More than the wedding gown and all the necessary things that we had to prepare for our wedding, we took some time to choose the best wedding rings for our big day. For us, it means more than just a piece of jewelry. It’s a symbol of our undying love and affection and we want that whenever we take a look at our rings, we would remember that special moment when we slipped the rings into each other’s fingers professing our commitment for each other. Isn’t that romantic?

If you’re a couple engaged to be married or a married couple who would want to renew your vows, you might want to think about getting gorgeous titanium wedding bands. Titanium style offers an online catalog of titanium rings, titanium bracelet, chain, titanium necklace and cross. If you want to invest for your wedding rings, check out their web site and you can choose from a variety of titanium ring styles, including classic bands, gold, platinum, silver inlay bands, and diamond or gem stone set bands. Make your wedding memorable by investing on a very important symbol of your love.

It's been a while since I wrote about our local entertainment industry. What prompted me to write is the on-going "love triangle" controversy between Marian Rivera and Karylle over Dingdong Dantes. Alright...for those of you are not updated with GMA Kapuso stars. Karylle is the 5-year girlfriend of Dingdong while Marian is his on-screen partner. It seemed like Dingdong had fallen out of love with Karylle because he developed an affection with his reel partner Marian. Hmmm! Sounds complicated. Karylle is hurting right now. As a matter of fact, she moved to ABS-CBN to avoid any complications with Marian and Dingdong. There's been a recent rumor that Marian is pregnant with Dingdong's child. Whoa! Neither of them admitted that they are really together so it's kinda weird that there had been talks that she's preggy. Gosh! I hope it's not true. I like Marian's beauty and acting skills so I hope she won't just put everything to waste because of Dingdong. Duh! Showbiz life, hehehe! Kakaloka!

We’re driving to Illinois first thing tomorrow morning. There’s been a forecast of 2-4 inches of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday so I’m a little worried of our safety on the road during these days. It would take us approximately 14 hours to drive up there and if we won’t get lucky, we might still be on the road when ice and snow accumulates. Duh! We’ll just stay in a hotel or something if the weather would be too much for Jeff to handle. I’m excited to shop at an outlet store in Illinois on our way home. It’s Christmas time so I’m pretty certain, branded stuff are on sale.

I was absent in the blogging and Entrecard world for 2 days. This weekend was our last schedule to help with the IS Team for the move to their new building. I was astounded with the size of the new site. I mean it was surprisingly huge when compared to all the other branches of our bank. I got lost a lot of times while we were going back and forth to the different floors of the said building. It was not totally complete construction-wise but for the most part, it was done. I had to go there this weekend to help break down and set up these PCs. It was a lot of hard work. I was missing my babe. It's our first time to be away from each other ever since we got married and we didn't enjoy it. I could not sleep even if two of our female IS officers offered to open the adjoining doors in our room just for me to feel safe. They were assigned to share one room while I stayed alone on a different room but they were just right next to my room so we opened the adjoining doors so it will make me feel like we're only staying in one big room. Very nice of them to do that.

The work that we did there was no fun. We got nasty, felt beat, tired, bored and overworked but the good part was that the food was GREAT! We ate at Kobe Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar with staff cooking your food right in front of you in an extraordinary show on a Teppanyaki table. I don't normally pick out a Japanese resto since I know nothing about their cuisine but I was glad somebody did. I ordered steak and shrimp with fried rice and oohh it was so delicious.

They finally let us go home around 7:00 P.M. yesterday but oh boy, my thighs and calves hurt like crazy. I miss blogging and EC dropping and I'm just so glad that I'm back here in my hubby's care. By the way, Jeff and I would be leaving for Illinois tomorrow night. We'll be spending Christmas at my sister's place so I will be absent from Entrecard again. I'll bring my laptop so hopefully, if I don't feel soooo dead tired, I'll EC drop while we're in a hotel. I'll definitely be back and my apologies if I won't be able to visit your blogs in 4 days or so. Until then...
