Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser flaws still continue to sprout this past few months. Just last month, hackers were able to access Google servers because of an unknown hole found in Internet Explorer. Though hackers used a number of tools in their hacking activity, such unknown flaw in IE became a major aid on the success of their overall operation. Today, another flaw in Internet Explorer was discovered and this time it gives attackers access to files stored on a PC if the attackers know the name of the file they want to access.

In line with this serious issue, Microsoft published a Security Advisory to warn the public especially the IE users. Below is an excerpt from the said advisory. (You can read the full post here)

"Microsoft is investigating a publicly reported vulnerability in Internet Explorer for customers running Windows XP or who have disabled Internet Explorer Protected Mode. This advisory contains information about which versions of Internet Explorer are vulnerable as well as workarounds and mitigations for this issue.

Our investigation so far has shown that if a user is using a version of Internet Explorer that is not running in Protected Mode an attacker may be able to access files with an already known filename and location....

The vulnerability exists due to content being forced to render incorrectly from local files in such a way that information can be exposed to malicious websites.

At this time, we are unaware of any attacks attempting to use this vulnerability. We will continue to monitor the threat environment and update this advisory if this situation changes. On completion of this investigation, Microsoft will take the appropriate action to protect our customers, which may include providing a solution through our monthly security update release process, or an out-of-cycle security update, depending on customer needs. "
I, personally, don't really like IE that much. Aside from it consumes big amount of memory, it has a lot of undiscovered flaws which might compromise that overall security of its user's computer. This specific event is just one of those instances which other free browsers (such as Firefox and Google Chrome) are of great help. :)

Windows 7 is undeniably one of the best operating systems Microsoft had released. It gained a good response from people which tremendously resulted to the higher sales of the said OS. Despite its success, there are still some technical issues or problems which constantly bangs it. One of which is the issue regarding Windows 7 can potentially ruin notebook batteries. Below is an article from ComputerWorld detailing the said allegation:

Computerworld - Microsoft said Tuesday it is looking into battery problems apparently affecting Windows 7 notebooks.

Users have complained of battery issues -- including premature warnings that the power is exhausted, as well as more dire demands to replace the battery -- for months, long before Windows 7 went final.

Microsoft claimed that the problem was in the Windows 7 tool that decided when the battery had been drained, or was unable to hold a charge. "We are investigating this issue in conjunction with our hardware partners, which appears to be related to system firmware (BIOS)," a Microsoft spokeswoman said today, referring to the firmware that boots the PC and initializes the hardware components. Last summer, reviewers for several publications and sites said that Windows 7 slashed battery life by almost a third when compared to XP. That ran counter to Microsoft's promise that Windows 7 would actually increase battery endurance.

Microsoft said it was looking for a common cause to the battery complaints. "We are working with our partners to determine the root cause and will update the [support] forum with information and guidance as it becomes available," the spokeswoman said.
I, too, experienced a drastic change in my laptop's battery life. Since I switched to Windows 7, I noticed that my battery life become shorter and shorter as time passes. My Compaq CQ20 laptop is still new (still less than a year from the date of purchase) however I was shocked about the early death of my batteries. At first, I thought it was caused by undercharging and overcharging (though such were really proven to deteriorate battery life) but now, I'm having thoughts that such activities were not the only reason for the death of my batteries. Maybe it's because of the flaws of the operating system itself (though I'm not really sure about it). :)
So what do you think?
Since the release of Apple iPad last January 27, people were quite hesitant about the lack of features that the new Apple gadget have which includes nonsupport for multitasking and flash applications. Consumers are thinking of ways on how to elevate the usage of iPad beyond mere reading e-books and surfing the net. Well, as what I've read from an article, running a Windows 7 client from an Apple iPad is possible. Here's an article from Citrix blog which further discusses the matter:

If your company has XenDesktop or XenApp you will be happy to know you will be able to use your iPad for real work, instead of just reading and browsing. It turns out the 9.7 inch display on the iPad with a 1024x768 screen resolution works great for a full VDI XenDesktop.

Windows applications run unmodified and securely in the data center, and even multiple applications at once. The advancements that were made for the Citrix Receiver for iPhone will carry over to the iPad, however the iPhone restrictions of screen size and small keyboards are overcome with the iPad. It's a beautiful thing ! The iPad looks to be an ideal end point device that can empower users to be productive were ever they are and IT will be able to safely deliver company hosted virtual desktops and apps without worry.
So, what do you think about this cool technology? :)

Google China’s hacking incident has been a major discussion worldwide especially in the internet security sector. The US government even viewed such incident to be a national security priority because of the sensitivity and danger it will cause, if not taken proper actions, in the future.

The Hacking Incident

The hacking incident started mid-December last year though it was detected early January this year. As we can recall, 4 years ago, Google announced their new domain in China – called google.cn. In exchange for their settlement in the country and in accordance to the Chinese government law, they’ve implemented a search result censorship scheme to limit the flow of information that Chinese people can access. Such restricted contents would include information that is deemed to be harmful or against the Chinese government which would include words from local and foreign activists.

Last January 12, the online community was shaken when Google disclosed in their official blog that they’ve experienced a highly sophisticated and targeted attack from unknown third party. During their investigation, Google traced that the source of the hacking incident came from China. It was found out that the primary goal of the hackers was to gain access to Gmail accounts of some Chinese human right activists. Hackers were able to access two Gmail accounts although it was only limited to account information rather than contents of emails themselves. Further investigation found out that Google was not the only target of the attack but there were other at least twenty big companies including the Internet, finance, technology, media and chemical sectors who experience the same attack – one of which is Adobe.

A Highly Sophisticated Attack

Investigation done by McAfee (an antivirus firm) further shows how the actual espionage happened. Hackers used unprecedented tactics that combined encryption, stealth programming and an unknown hole in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. They’ve used dozen pieces of malwares and high encryption level which passed through any common detection methods. The initial attack was suspected to happen when company employees visited a malicious website. Once visited, Internet Explorer browser was exploited to download an array of malware to their computer automatically and transparently. According to Dmitri Alperovitch, Vice President of threat research for McAfee:

The initial piece of code was shell code encrypted three times and that activated the exploit,” “Then it executed downloads from an external machine that dropped the first piece of binary on the host. That download was also encrypted. The encrypted binary packed itself into a couple of executables that were also encrypted.
One of the malicious programs was also found out to have opened a remote backdoor to the infected computer, establishing an encrypted covert channel that pretended to be an SSL connection to avoid detection. Such infected computer served as a spy to search other parts of the network for login credentials, intellectual property and other important company assets. Though there were a lot of tools used in the hacking incident, vulnerabilities from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Adobe’s Acrobat PDF reader were proven to be of great help to hackers.

The Security Implications

The hacking incident poses a great threat not only to those bigger companies directly affected by the attack but also to the whole internet community itself. Online business transactions are now very popular since it is fast, easy and a highly accessible method of transacting business. With this incident, the whole security of the internet will now be put into question since hackers were able to gain access to sensitive information of big companies which we deemed to be very well-secured. Hackers in the future might obtain sensitive and highly classified information including company’s financial records. This is something which we do not like to happen. It is for this reason why internet security institutions and the US government are doing their bests to avoid further similar incidents from occurring in the future. As what Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, said: “The ability to operate with confidence in cyberspace is critical in a modern society and economy” and thus should be properly secured.

The year 2010 has indeed predicted to be the year for tablet PCs. Just as after Apple iPad was formally presented to the public last Wednesday (January 27) and HP's annoucenment on its own version of tablet PC called HP Slate PC, MSI also had its contending product coming soon.

Micro-Star International (MSI) is set to launch a Nvidia Tegra-based tablet PC in the second half of 2010 priced US$500, according to company sales director Sambora Chen.

Chen pointed out that MSI's tablet PC will feature a 10-inch color touchscreen with wireless support and will be light-weight and thin for mobility, while featuring all the functions of a regular notebook. However, MSI will be flexible of the tablet's specifications and will launch different models based on market demand.
The main structure and design of this upcoming product of MSI is quite similar to that of Apple iPad though it has some additional buttons on the right side, a camera and microphone on top, and some lighting circles on the right.

Since the product is still not available in the market, there's still no formal hardware and software specifications given by the company. But one thing is for sure, this product will shaken other competing and similar products in attracting potential tablet PC buyers.

Have you heard of Facebook's upcoming redesign? Yes! Facebook is going to update their design in the coming days. It seems that Facebook is rolling out its new site design to at least some people outside the company. In fact, there have been some screenshots already out in the internet showing some simple yet very significant enhancements in their design.

Here are some of the changes:

The navigation bar is reorganized, and thankfully, it seems like Facebook is removing the duplicate profile link. The name and profile links didn’t make much sense to begin with.

The search field is now next to the Facebook logo, a clear sign that the company wants search to play a major role in the future. Searches for brands, events, companies and celebrities will be more prominent.

By combining settings and login in an all-purpose “account” dropdown, Facebook is making the overall experience cleaner.

The sidebar is scaled down and takes a lot of cues from Facebook Lite. In fact, the new design takes inspiration from Facebook Lite in the way News Feed, Friends, Events and Photos are displayed.

Bookmarks is a smart way for users to add links to their favorite applications, fan pages or whatever.

Facebook IM is still firmly ensconced at the bottom right, but app quick links and notifications are gone.

Here are just some of those screenshots:
Craving to watch your favorite ABS-CBN Kapamilya shows but don't have television in your office or school? Well, there's an alternative way of watching them without the need of a TV. It is possible using live online streaming websites available in the internet.

There are different types of online streaming websites. Some of them offer their service(s) with fee while most of them offer it for free. Obviously, most of us don't want to spend money although we can afford them. This is the perfect time where we can avail those free services of other online streaming website.

So where can I watch my favorite ABS-CBN shows?

Well, there are a lot of them in the internet but there is one specific website which I could recommend to you. I've been using their services for months already and so far I'm satisfied from what I get. Most important of all, it's FREE of charge.

The website I'm referring to is called TVAdik. They offer a number of services in their website. Aside from their FREE Live TV Streaming (which is the most evident of them all), they also offer previously recorded episodes of most Kapamilya shows. This service is very useful especially to those people who missed watching a specific episode of their favorite show/s. On the right side of the screen, you can also see a chatbox which you can use to interact with other online users using TVAdik. This is a good avenue to mingle and create new friends.

Requirements:

On thing to note about TVAdik is that the website uses Microsoft Silverlight (a web application framework that provides functionalities similar to those in Adobe Flash). You have to install it first before you can use the website's services. You can download Microsoft Silverlight for free HERE.

Enjoy watch ABS-CBN shows! :)

Aside from the rumored iPhone 4G, another thing look into from Apple this coming 2010 is the release of their first Mac Tablet. Yes, you heard it right! Apple is officially into the Tablet PC market wherein this coming first quarter of 2010 is the unveiling of their product called Apple iSlate. There have been a lot of rumors as to the exact date of its release (probably on January 26th) but one thing is for sure: Apple iSlate will definitely be available to consumers next year!

Actual specifications and capabilities of the new Apple iSlate are still unknown until its official unveiling. However, there are some information leaked in the internet. Apple iSlate (some call it also as “Apple iPad” which is kinda awkward to pronounce) is rumored to have a 10-inch and 7-inch versions, both 3G-enabled tablets. Some would say that it’s a jumbo-sized iPod Touch.

According to Daily World Buzz’s report:

News about Apple Tablet specifications have been spreading since last year until today. Unknown sources said that the Apple Tablet will have a 9.7-inch OLED display from LG and will have an Intel Quad processor. Gadget price clairvoyants expect the opening retail price to be around a hefty $2,000 to $3,000 US dollars. But if you don’t want to spend a lot with the OLEDApple Tablet, there are rumors that you’ll have an option to avail of the 10.6-inch LCD version that will land somewhere between $800 and $1,000.

Here’s just some unofficial images of Apple iSlate:
A 256 Gigabytes USB Flash Drive? Crap! My eyes widened the moment I read about it. Although I've been expecting that such high capacity USB flash drives will really come into existence in the future, I didn't expect it to be too sooner enough. It is said to hold up to 50,000 digital images, 365 CD images, 54 DVD5 ISOs or 10 Blu-ray single layer disks. I'm still amazed knowing how much data can be stored in such a small piece of device.
This high capacity USB flash drive comes with transfer rates up to 20MB/sec for read and speed up to 10MB/sec for write. It is also bundled with Kingston's Password Traveler software which is used for segmenting a section of the drive that can be used to store files securely, accesible only by a password.

Do you really need it?

Well, it depends on your needs. But for me, I'm not that excited to own such flash drive (except if given as a GIFT! haha!). It's because flash drives are highly susceptible for damage due to its miniature size excluding the fact that it can also be accidentally lost by the owner. If I'm in need of more storage capacity, I would rather buy an external/portable hard drive (HD). But if you really want to have a 256GB USB flash drive, then prepare at least $900 or almost 40,000 in Philippine currency. :p

How about you? Would you buy it?
Experiencing a very slow speed when watch Youtube videos? For us, it's a common scenario that we first pause our youtube video and wait for it to finish its buffering process. This is kind of annoying and may sometimes kill the excitement especially when watching a series. To address this problem, I'm sharing you a simple and easy trick on how to speed up your Youtube streaming speed.

How can I do it?

There are plenty of ways on how to accelerate your Youtube streaming speed. One of which is by upgrading your internet connection speed by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Surely, it will really increase not only your streaming speed but your surfing experience in totality. However, such action would require additional fees on your part.

Are there any free alternatives?

Definitely, YES! There are products or softwares out in the market called video accelerators which speeds up your video streaming process. Though they also require additional fees for their premium services, most of them have freeware versions which can decently speed up your streaming.

What specific freeware can you recommend?

As for me, I would recommend Speedbit Video Accelerator which I've been using for almost a month already. So far, I can say that its really WORKING! The best part of it is that I didn't spend even a penny to get such service. It's very easy to use and does not require any programming or complicated steps at all. You just have to install it and you're ready to go.

Some of its features would include:
(as mentioned in their official website)

Reduces “movie freezes” and “buffering” problems!

Accelerates streaming videos from YouTube and over 150 sites!

Bookmarks videos you’ve recently accelerated, for easy replays!

Includes cool search tab feature for finding videos to watch around the web, right from your desktop!

Download: Speedbit Video Accelerator

So far, this is my best way of letting you watch web videos smoothly without frustrating pauses and interruptions.
---------
Update: If you don't want to download the software, I found another working trick: CLICK HERE.
I'm pretty much excited about what this new iPhone 4G can offer to its consumers. As I've searched the internet, I came up with this list of confirmed and other possible features that iPhone 4G may come on hand.

iPhone 4G Features:

Higher Screen Resolution

Touch Charging

Multi-Tasking

iChat camera (on the front)

A standard headphone jack

Rumoured Features:

OLED screen

Removable Battery

I'm sure those features mentioned above are not yet fixed (and still may change) until Apple makes its official announcement in the coming days. Nevertheless, I'm sure that it's going to be better as compared to its predecessors. So what do you think about iPhone 4G?

Do you want to own a gadget saving over 80% off retail and at the same time help fund a lung cancer charity? Well, these things can be achieved when you try to participate in Bidazzled online auction!

So what is Bidazzled.com?
It's an online auction market launched in early November this year. It tries to redefine the online auction market by offering savings of up to 90% on name brand merchandise all while funding "The Ruch Foundation", a lung cancer charity.

How does it work?
Commonly known as Penny Auctions or Pay-Per-Bid auction sites, bids are purchased in advance and then used to bid on merchandise. The price increases a few cents with each bid placed and a few seconds are added to the countdown clock to give others a chance to bid. The auction ends when no other bids are placed. So, for example, if a new laptop ends at just a dollar, then you win the laptop for a dollar! Cool, right?

Sample bid items?
Most of bid items are expensive gadgets like: Nikon DSLR Cameras, Internet Media Tablets, Playstation 3, Wii devices, Altec Digital Speakers, Apple iPod Nano, Smart phones, and many more. They also have DVD Movies, Clothing lines, and PC games.

Benefits you can get:
The most obvious benefit you can get is to save up to 80% to 90% off retail prices of the bid item. This happens when no other people bid for that item. Another good thing in this online auction is that nobody loses in the game! So what do I mean by this? If you don’t win, you still receive up to 50 BONUS bids as a thank you for participating. Here, you can purchase the auction item less the investment you had in the auction. (Fact: In their first month, there have been 2 winners of Nintendo Wii’s who have won with just their 5 free bids!)

Exclusive Offer:
If you register on or before the 15th of January 2010 using the codes below, you will get an additional 15 FREE BIDS! All you have to do is just go to their registration page and type those codes. Registration is FREE!

Each bid costs $1 but if you want to save more, you can avail their bid packs for as low as $25 only plus additional FREE BIDS!

Earn more Bids by Referring Others:
Bidazzled has a lucrative Viral Referral program. When:
*A refers B. A receives 5 Bonus Bids
*B refers C. A receives 4 Bonus Bids
*C refers D. A receives 3 Bonus Bids
*D refers E. A receives 2 Bonus Bids
*E refers F. A receives 1 Bonus Bid.

Facebook hacking is really evident nowadays. I've known a number of friends already complaining that their FB accounts were banned because of security breaches done by unknown individuals. Hackers now target facebook accounts to get email addresses, phone numbers, and other valuable information of people and use it for their own advantage. Most of them try to use the identity of the owner to ask money from friends. If you don't want this to happen to you, then it would be best if you follow this series of tips which I've personally created to avoid your facebook account from being hacked.

10 Tips to Secure your Facebook Account:
(these are tips which I think would be very helpful to all FB users)

1.) Avoid putting too much information on your Facebook page
Avoid being too detailed in putting personal information in your Facebook page. Avoid putting explicity your phone numbers, your email address and other pertinent information that hackers might probably be interested in looking at. Hackers may use those information to crack passwords or worst create a new FB account and claim your identify. Always put in mind that Facebook is a social networking site and whatever information you put there will be shared to others. No matter how private your profile is, always put a boundary for your privacy by not sharing everything.

2.) Have a strong password
A password is very important since it will determine if the system will authorize your login request on Facebook. Having a strong password means that it should be alphanumeric, a combination of letters (both upper and lower cases), numbers, and special characters. Making such combination would make it difficult for hackers to guess or crack your password. As much as possible, avoid using passwords related to you such as your name, your birthday, etc. since these are commonly used by hackers in cracking passwords. Be creative in making your password. Another thing, avoid generic password or passwords that are used in all your online account (emails, facebook, twitter, etc.). Once a hacker managed to hack one of your account, it will be easy for them to hack your other account too so try to avoid such thing.

3.) Have a unique email address
Just like an ideal password, your email address should also be unique and alphanumeric. Having an email address based on your own name, although its more convinient and can be easily identified by your friends, is not a good practice. It will give hackers a hint when they get hold of your full name. Be creative to in making your email address and try not to create one that can be easily associated to you.

4.) Configure your Facebook Account's Privacy Settings
Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, recently announced to all that they've already updated their security policies and implemented more secured privacy settings to avoid accounts from being compromised. You might want to check it out and configure it based on your preference. Just a few tips: limit your profile and contact information to be viewed only by your legitimate friends. You can also limit you account from being searched by everyone. This would block other unknown individuals from reading/accessing your information especially those personal ones. You can check your privacy settings under the Settings menu on top of your page.

5.) Avoid adding strangers in your friends list
Never accept friend request from strangers. If you don't know the person, just leave the request as it is. Don't accept nor decline it. You might have just forgotten the person or you may be acquainted in the future. Also, don’t fall for the ‘collect as many friends as possible’ game that amateur Facebook users often get into. It will not just clatter your list but also makes your account vulnerable for hackers. You can read this very helpful article as to how hackers use social engineering to hack other people's FB accounts.

6.) Always logout your FB account after using
This tip is very helpful for users logging in their FB accounts in public places such as internet cafes. Never forget to log off your account for this might give access to the next person using the PC. Before leaving the place, make sure that you leave no trace. In such cases, it is advisable to have with you a portable browser so as not to leave any information on the PC.

7.) Be cautious in sharing your password with your friends
Don't be too confident about your friends since they still have the potential to open your account to prank or make fun of you. Be cautious too in sharing you password with friends when you are in public places. Other people might accidently hear it and use them for their advantage. When already shared your password with a friend, it is advisable that you change it as soon as possible. This step does not intend to question the credibility of your friend but it's just making sure that they will not be blamed in case your account will be hacked.

8.) Disable your browser from saving your password
If you do not own the computer you are using to login in Facebook, make sure that you do not save your email address and password on that specific PC. Most browsers nowadays have this feature enabled and asks you if you want to save those information on the PC. This is only ideal for users having their own PC but not to users who are only sharing. Make sure you say "NO" when asked by the browser to save.

9.) Be careful with Keyloggers
A keylogger is a small piece of hardware which is usually inserted between the keyboard port and the keyboard itself. This device is commonly used to monitor and record each of the keys a user types into the computer keyboard. Keyloggers are mostly present in internet cafes, computer laboratories, offices, and other public places where there are computers. Although it's a pretty much advanced way of hacking, it would be helpful if we are aware of the device existence. Be observant in your surroundings and make sure that there aren't any unsual devices connected to the PC before using it.

10.) Review your friend list once in a while
This tip might be tedious on your part but is very helpful in preventing security threats such as hacking. Take a look of your full list of friend once in a while to ensure that you didn't add someone by mistake. This step has a double purpose: Eliminating potential hackers in your list and cleaning those friends whom you are not friends anymore. (sorry if it might sound too mean. haha! )

So there it is! The tips above are just some of the possible steps you might want to follow to secure your FB account and avoid hackers to hack it. So what do you think about those tips? Express it by commenting below. Thanks for reading.
Van. The project was based on Google’s open-source project called Chromium (source codes for Google Chrome). The development team main goal is basically to improve the overall usage experience of most Google Chrome browser users by providing more helpful and convenient features. ChromePlus currently runs only on Windows platforms including Windows 2003, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

The Interface:

The interface of ChromePlus is very similar to that of Google Chrome’s. The only different that I’ve noticed was the ChromePlus Logo found of the upper right side of the browser. The similarity is pretty much understandable since it’s based on Google Chrome but I would expect that on the future development on the browser, they can add more distinguishing changes that would set them apart from its mother browser.

Functionalities & Features:

Basically, ChromePlus has all the functionalities that Google Chrome (where it is mainly based at). Currently, this new browser has these 5 major features:

• Double click tab to close – when closing a specific tab in the browser, all you need to do is just double click that tab and it will automatically close itself. This feature seems to be very minimal but very helpful when you are in a rush and don’t have the time to aim your mouse cursor on the ‘X’ button of each tab.

• Mouse Gestures – This feature, for me, is the most exciting and fun compared to others. The browser has a built in Arrow Trace mouse gesture which draws an arrow trace on the page while using the right button of your mouse. It may seem confusing at first but, when properly practiced, can save you a lot of time. One thing to note about is that mouse gestures can’t be tweaked or customized.

• Super drag – Super drag lets you drag a link in the page with your left button and drop it somewhere else in the page, creating a new tab page to open the link. Dragging and dropping a block of text in the page will also create a new page and search the text with your default search engine (which is Google). This is definitely helpful in times when you do not understand a specific word or text in the page. You just have to drag that word and it will be automatically searched via Google search.

• IE (Internet Explorer) tab – You might be wondering why Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was included in the picture. Well, some web pages use IE controls and thus can only run in IE correctly. The development team are aware of such problem hence, they designed the IE tab to visit such pages without actually opening the IE browser. Pretty handy feature indeed.

• Download tools Support – Since downloading is very common in web browsing, ChromePlus supports some of the popular download tools in the context menu (the menu that appears when you right click your mouse) of web pages. Some of them include NetAnts, Orbit, QQ Xuanfeng, IS, FlashGet3, FlashGetMini, NetX, WebThunder, Xunlei, and many more. Just take note that you have to install those tools first in your PC before you can use it in your context menu.

You can also visit ChromePlus’ official page for more details and screenshots of such features.

Problems & Issues:

Although ChromePlus has a number of good features, it should be noted that the browser is still in its early development stage which means that it is inevitable that there will really be problems or issues that it will encounter.

1. Bugs and Major/Minor Fixes
Bugs are really unavoidable when developing an application. Some of them are still undiscovered and has to be tested very well to improve performance and stability of the program. Some identified bugs are coming from the IE tab feature. If you encounter problems on the browser, you can go to the Forums section of their official website to seek help from other people or from the development team themselves.

2. No proper documentation
ChromePlus lacks proper documentation for their application. It is very important so that ordinary users have some sort of manual whenever they experience problems along the way.

3. Problems in security
Basically the problem on security is always present when developing a program. But in the case of ChromePlus, I think they lack the manpower to take care of all security issues present online. It requires a lot of effort and may take a lot of time to solve all of them.

Conclusion:

ChromePlus is a pretty good browser that everyone should try. It has a number of features which you cannot find on other popular browsers. It’s fast and very light like its mother browser. However, if you are looking for a more stable and secure browser that you will permanently use, they I cannot recommend you to use ChromePlus since it’s still in its early years of development and you might encounter certain flaws along the way. I hope ChromePlus will improve drastically in the future and will be as competitive as those other popular browsers available online.

Before, I made a blog post enlisting detailed steps on how to unblock Kavkiskey.com website in your Kaspersky Antivirus / Internet Security. Although the said steps still works on my PC, I, however, received some comments saying that the said trick does not work on theirs anymore. I suspect that the Kaspersky team have already known such trick and finally made a patch for it (although it may still work on some PCs). Because of this, I searched for other alternatives over the internet on how to access the kavkiskey website.

And here, if found an alternative solution. I found a website which is a similar to the original kavkiskey.com website which also give working keys for latest versions of Kaspersky product.

The website is www.Kavkiskey.org!

I don't know if it's affiliated with kavkiskey.com (since they basically have the same name; only different extension). But I don't think they are owned by the same team since the original one was encoded in Chinese while this new one is in English. Nevertheless, what's more important are the benefits we can get out of it: WORKING KEYS!! :)

If you are having troubles following my first post regarding unblocking kavkiskey.com, then this would be a perfect alternative. A URL used to say something about a Web site’s owner - a memorable name that replaced a complex set of numbers that were used to access a Web page. Then things changed. In today’s world of Twitter tweets and mobile texts, where long drawn-out URL links are character hogs, services like tinyurl and bit.ly came on board and showed us that there was value in shortcut URLs with only a few characters.

These services should be thanked for introducing us to URL shortening and providing a service for us early adopters. We appreciated it. But the time has come for the big guys to step in and take over the URL shortening game, or so it would appear.

Today, Google announced goo.gl, a URL shortening service that’s being introduced as part of the browser toolbar and the Feedburner RSS service but will likely end up being a more broadly integrated feature. (Techmeme) Meanwhile, there was also some blogger buzz today about fb.me, a URL shortening service that Facebook is reportedly testing.

Of course, Google and Facebook won’t dominate right away. They’re just starting to test the waters - and there’s still plenty of research to be done. Google and Facebook will surely be analyzing the usage patterns behind the url shorteners. And that will give the small guys a chance to beef themselves up as competitors or, better yet, start innovating.

URLs are just what’s used today. We’re already transitioning to a society of bookmarks, desktop shortcuts, and links. Why do we even need URLs? Maybe we can speak the command to bring up a web site. Or just touch an app-like shortcut. At some point, won’t the computer just be able to read my mind?

The pioneers should keep innovating, pushing the boundaries and giving us what we don’t even know we need yet. But be realistic about the future of URL shortening - Google and Facebook are the new drivers of the technology. They’ll tweak it and shape it and deliver it to the masses. It’s up to the innovators to discover the next big thing.
Install Battery Doubler, unplug AC power and experience total laptop freedom!

# Double your autonomy
Before, your only solution to have a decent battery for your laptop was to buy an extra one. Now, there's a lighter, more efficient, and cheaper alternative: Battery Doubler! Because it doesn't use standard techniques (dim screen light, etc.), but finds out what to turns off what isn't needed, such as, for example, the USB ports, you can get up to twice autonomy without sacrifice comfort.

# Decrease recharge time
Your battery recharges much faster if your computer isn't turned on. That's a fact. Let Battery Doubler redefine a few computer facts - with its Turbo Charge technology, increase up to 10% battery recharge speed when your computer is turned on.

# Recalibrate damaged batteries
After using your battery a lot without paying attention to discharge and recharge it fully every time, its performance becomes very low. With Battery Doubler, simply run the recalibration wizard that does the entire job for you - automatically!

# Easy to use
From the configuration window to the battery status indicator, features, Battery Doubler excels at ease-of use. Our interface fully respects Microsoft's guidelines and is very intuitive. Because you don't always want to read a 300-pages manual before using a software, you will understand how to use Battery Doubler in no time.

# And much more
Battery Doubler features other great functions, such as telling you in hours:minutes your battery's autonomy! It is impossible to list all of Battery Doubler's functions on a single webpage, so why don't you download it and find out how much better your laptop is with it?

Nokia, the worldwide mobile phone market leader, claims that Apple violated its patents on wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption.

Today Apple answered the suit. With a countersuit.

In a brief yet succinct press release Apple stated that it has filed a countersuit claiming that Nokia is infringing on 13 of its patents. Apple’s complaint seeks the dismissal of Nokia’s complaint in its entirety, with prejudice, damages for Nokia’s alleged infringements, interest and legal fees, according to Digital Daily. Bruce Sewell, Apple’s General Counsel and senior vice president is quoted:

Other companies must compete with us by inventing their own technologies, not just by stealing ours.

Ouch.

Apple’s makes some pretty bold claims in its countersuit:

…The iPhone platform has caused a revolutionary change in the mobile phone category.

In contrast, Nokia made a different business decision and remained focused on traditional mobile wireless handsets with conventional user interfaces. As a result, Nokia has rapidly lost share in the market for high-end mobile phones. Nokia has admitted that, as a result of the iPhone launch, “the market changed suddenly and [Nokia was] not fast enough changing with it.

In response, Nokia chose to copy the iPhone, especially its enormously popular and patented design and user interface….

Apple even dredged up a pretty damning quote from Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia’s executive Vice President and General Manager of Multimedia, from a Nokia event in 2007 where he was asked about the similarities of Nokia’s new offerings to the already released iPhone:

[i]f there is something good in the world, we copy with pride.

Double ouch.

The Finnish mobile phone giant hasn’t yet responded to Apple’s countersuit. Pull up a lawn chair and watch the fireworks fly. This one’s going to be a doozy.

Digital Daily has a list of the disputed patents and the full text of Apple’s counterclaim.

Will Apple and Nokia allow this to go to court or will they come to a licensing agreement?
One clear manifestation of such desire is commonly expressed through our personal devices most specifically our mobile phones. But with the vast selection of such phones in the market, we are often confused on which one is the best and that can really satisfy our wants. Luckily, LG Chocolate Touch is finally out to answer all of those things.

The new LG Chocolate Touch is one of its kind since it offers a lot of quality features which you cannot see from other competing products. Chocolate Touch allows you to do things such as making calls, sending text messages, use the internet and other Social Media (like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.), take high quality pictures or videos (w/ 3.2 MegaPixels camera/recorder), and play your favorite music using its built in music player with Dolby Mobile technology for crystal-clear sound quality. All of these features are all lumped up into one to give us to best mobile experience that we can get.

If given the enough money, I would really consider Chocolate Touch since everything that I want is basically there already. I do not have to buy an iPod or any separate music player, for that matter, just to hear my favorite songs. I do not have to a digital camera or recorder just to capture my treasured moments with my friends and my family. Nor would I buy a laptop or other Wifi enabled devices just to keep in touch or give my updates in the virtual world. All of those features can now be done by just one device; make it handier and actually save your money.

If you plan on buying a new phone for yourself or for your significant other then I would recommend LG Chocolate Touch. I assure you that it is all worth it!
The goal is "to serve YouTube video watch pages with the lowest latency possible. It achieves this by severely limiting the features available to the viewer and making use of advanced web techniques for reducing the total amount of bytes downloaded by the browser."

Chrome's dev tools show that the improvements are noticeable: the resources downloaded when you watch a video only have 52 KB, instead of 391 KB.

There are many missing features in the "feather" version: search suggestions, posting comments, viewing all the comments, rating videos, customizing the embedded player. Another issue is that the lite version is not available for all videos.
There are many changes aside from the logo, new features like games, easy photo uploading, the gift shop and many more will take effect soon. Friendster is the first Social Networking site to capture the Asian market, even the United States. The total make over of Friendster could be the effect to Facebook’s popularity. It could be one of the reasons why the makers of Friendster made these changes.

Some of the Games in Friendster includes The Farmer, Marios’ Adventure and Naughty Classroom. No doubt, The Farmer is patterned to Facebook’s Farmtown or Farmville. This new feature can be found under the “Fun” menu of the Navbar. There are about 200 new games to play based on the most popular one.

Another feature is the “Friendster Wallet“. It enables you to store money on Friendster in a currency called “Friendster Coins.” It can be spent throughout Friendster’s site for gifts and upcoming goods and services. Friendster Wallet supports prepaid “Top-up” cards, which can be purchased at 7-Eleven stores. You can also purchase prepaid cards at thousands of offline locations throughout Asia with cash, and then enter the unique code from the card into the Friendster Wallet to receive the money into your account. Then users can make purchases on Friendster.com for gifts, games, goods and services.

Now you can send gifts to friends quickly and conveniently. The new Friendster Gift Shop helps you show your friends that you care – and show off the special gifts you receive in return.

More features of the New Friendster :
• A Fun and Simple Site – a site that makes it more fun to connect and communicate with friends
• Easier Uploading and Sharing – faster photo uploading, easier ways to find both current and new friends and their stuff
• Enhanced Self Expression and Customization –ways to express yourself and personalize your Friendster profile and site experience
• Entertaining Content – ways to entertain you and your friends- like gifts, games and music

If you want to see the changes yourself, visit the Friendster website now. Well, given such improvement in Friendster, I would still prefer Facebook. :p

Additional Info: Just in time for the launch of the new Friendster design, here comes a report by Reuters stating that Friendster is about to be sold to an Asian firm. The price – $100 million.
