<p>I recommend reading this article by Ed Rollins, of CNN, talking about Lou Dobbs leaving the network. The title of the article is "Dobbs and CNN were no longer in sync." What I like about this piece is how is describes the differences between Advocacy Journalism, where you are arguing a point, and straightforward non-biased news reporting where you are attempting to report as accurately and in as non-biased a way as possible. </p>

<p>Lately I hear a lot people throw around the label "mainstream media" as a pejorative term. I appreciate Ed Rollins (who is a Republican political commentator, by the way) grounding statement that mainstream media has a positive meaning as well.</p>

<p>I have long felt that Lou Dobbs anti-immigration articles on CNN seemed more like rants than news. When he came out supporting the "birthers" I was really puzzled.</p>

<p>As someone who invested in CNN during the first Gulf war, I rely on CNN's news coverage. CNN, BBC News, and NPR are my favorite news sources. Lou Dobbs was one of the first reporters at CNN, but I say good luck to him and good riddance.  And take your <a href="http://www.luggagesource.com/IBS/SimpleCat/Shelf/ASP/Hierarchy/0V.html">Titan luggage</a> with you.</p></div>

<p>Check out this really cool article on Lifehacker on how to make a moss terrarium. This is for sure on my To Do list. I love moss. About 5 years ago I visited a friend's parents cabin up in the North Georgia mountains and while I was walking around up on their trail I took a piece of moss. When I got home I placed it next to my front steps and now I have tons of it growing. I like the idea of the zen simplicity of moss and a rock in a small glass bowl. This would be great on my desk at work. Ok, not next to the <a href="http://www.coresystemsusa.com/">rackmount</a> equipment or anything, but just to add a bit of green to the area.</p></div>

<p>My good friends at Slickdeals.net told me about this free eBook of Thanksgiving crafts. It's a mixed bag of craft projects - there are a lot of ideas from card making, centerpieces, and even an amigurumi crocheted Indian corn. Funniest one is the centerpiece made out of a Renuzit air freshener. The one I liked best was in the kids crafts section at the end - cute Turkey napkin rings made from felt.</p></div>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>The kids and I spent almost the whole day outside today.  The neighbors were out as well and all the kids were riding bikes, scooters, and playing at the playground together.  Then Ben had a Cub Scout meeting, which went well.   Breakfast was scrambled eggs and sausage with tortillas and dinner was Hamburger Helper (organic version) and lemon pepper mixed veggies.  Simple stuff, but at least I cooked and did the dishes.</p>

<p>The painters are finished with the kids rooms, and only have the dining room and our bedroom left, plus bathrooms.  I will be so glad when they are done.  The carpet is ordered and we are waiting for it to arrive and get installed.  Also are getting a new set of faucets in the master bathroom because mine leaks.</p>

<p>Question of the day - is conjugated linoleic acid anything like conjugating verbs?  :-P I guess I will have to check out the <a href="http://www.conjugatedlinoleicacid.net/">tonalin cla</a> site for more info.  Or just  continue to live in ignorance.</p></div>
