My name’s Matt, and I’m a kid with a background in IT who lost interest in the idea of working for someone else. I never played poker growing up like many of the pros you hear about; rather, I just started playing in late 2005 when I was 23. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m nothing spectacular when it comes to the game — especially when it comes to playing online — but I know I have great potential, and every session is a new chance to learn and grow. My intention is to focus on my live play, unlike the many online players today.
Most of my experience in poker is limited to playing no limit Texas hold’em, specifically at $1/2 stakes. However, I’ve also found limited success in small stakes limit razz and limit stud-8 online.
I originally began by allotting myself a $4,000 bankroll, tracking each of my sessions along with my current bankroll throughout my blog posts. However, I had some setbacks at first along with some personal bankroll management issues, during which I needed a break from the game.
I’ve since adjusted my lifestyle and my approach to the game. I’m now slowly getting back into the swing of things, though I am not aspiring to play as a full-time professional as I once had. If the opportunity to do so presents itself to me, perhaps one day, but for now it will remain more of a leisure activity that might provide some spare income.
