Since I didn t have the box, I wasn t sure what a normal dose was... Of course, I did the rational thing and took both pills... Before long, I was passed out in bed... Well, about an hour later, my Ex arrived home... He coaxed me to a sitting position and handed me the cup... I was too out of it to realize I shouldn t be taking more NyQuil and the room was too dark for my Ex to realize the state I was in... My body ached... I spent the remainder of yesterday in slow motion, barely able to perform basic functions like showering or eating... … View Post »
We found the perfect place at a really good price!... I trust your judgement, was my reply... And sure enough, upon seeing it myself, I agreed with his decision... I found our new washer and dryer... My Ex was left scratching his head, wondering why on earth I would trust him with a home purchase and yet wouldn t with a washer and dryer... … View Post »

I know I write about politics a fair amount, so it s not surprising that the Google logic displays political ads on my blog... However, since I write about how much I really dislike Sarah Palin and John McCain, you d think their algorithm would be smart enough to recognize that and not display ads from their campaign... Seriously, if I have to look at one more McCain-Palin: The Original Mavericks ad (complete with night backdrop and stars), I am going to lose it... So, maybe displaying these ads is actually a good thing?... In brighter news, just two weeks to the election!... … View Post »

Tonight, after rushing from workto attend an open house at Gavin s school, then rushing to get dinner for my family, and finally rushing home to watch Round 3 of the madness (aka the Debate), I was exhausted... Well, my Ex interpreted that as sit on the couch and chat online... I say poor because my Ex has been recently diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I suspect he was not having a good day, even before I launched into Bitchfest 2008... (To his credit, he wound up dumping a well-deserved bowl of - dry - Lucky Charms over my head.)... … View Post »
It s indicative of McCain s tone throughout the entire debate - callous, bitter, seething, disrespectful... That One will likely go down as a major flub in McCain s already appalling Presidential campaign... However, it wasn t McCain s worst offense that evening... At the end of the debate, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, went around shaking hands with people in the audience... When McCain passed by Obama, Obama reached out to shake McCain s hand... It s mind-baffling that someone who deigns to be President would conduct himself so callously - and on national television, too... I mean, at least pretend, man... … View Post »

Okay, so despite having spent the better part of the evening glued to my television set and despite having a boatload of comments on tonight s town hall-style presidential debate, I am going to write about something even nearer and dearer to my heart than politics: Thomas the Tank Engine... You see, every night before bed, Gavin and I go to thomasandfriends.com to play Thomas games before he goes to sleep... Well, tonight, when I went to the Thomas the Tank Engine website, I found that the site was down!... Don t they have backup measures in place?... … View Post »
I really love the political humor my Ex finds on the web (though I don t know if humor is the correct word when it s technically the truth and more scary than funny ):... … View Post »
After watching this evening s Vice Presidential debate - with my Ex, a close college friend, and a few beers - I am more convinced than ever that Sarah Palin is not simply an embarrassment to Americans but an utteraffront tofeminism... I won t belabor the point that she knows nothing, but holy hell - she knows NOTHING... Her lack of information and facts is altogether stunning, while her disdain for analysis and intellectual discussion leaves me utterly breathless... During her gubernatorial race in Alaska, she mocked opponents for being too detail-oriented and preoccupied with facts... I think the best description of Sarah Palin s performance came from this man with broken English: She looks like she is driving around in circles, looking for a parking spot... … View Post »

A little over a month ago, our eloquent Lame Duck in Chief commented that Wall Street got drunk and now it s got a hangover... (Although, I d say it in a way that suggested I d spent more time in college studying than crushing beer cans against my head and burping the National Anthem... But, then I m not the leader of the free world - err, free world - so perhaps I ve got the wrong approach.)... A month and a half after this comment was made, it seems President Bush read the briefing explaining exactly what has been going on in the economy... Without quick action [to remedy the disastrous culmination of the past 8 years], Bush warned of a long and painful recession... Second, and more importantly, I m really annoyed that Wall Street got all the upside of their risk and then the rest of the country gets stuck paying for it... Americans had nothing to gain from the profits of Wall Street, but $700 billion to lose... As much as I support doing something to stem the country s economic crisis (such as debt forgiveness and converting debt into equity for creditors), I don t know that I support the bailout... … View Post »
I know that makes me sound ungrateful, for I ve been quite fortunate to have been born into life in a developed country where I had the ability to make a good life for myself... But I am getting really fatigued with a less-than-critical, less-than-educated population making stubborn, pride-filled, uninformed decisions that lead to bad policies for me and my family and an even worse reputation abroad... Religion out of my government and out of my schools Guaranteed health care for every tax payer Guaranteed health care for every child Respect for intelligence and analysis Countrymen and women who vote based on issues other than abortion Countrymen and women who won t try to intervene in the lives of two consenting adults A stable economy A president who thinks education and elitism is an asset, not a liability Comprehensive, accurate, and agenda-freesex education for our children... Not in the I m fleeing to Canada sort of way - more in the Now seems like a good time to expose our son to other cultures sort of way... I think Americans are really ignorant to the rest of the world and I want to absorb myself (and my family) in an international - not a national - world... … View Post »
