In November of last year (still weird to say that) IZEA announced its launch of SocialSpark’s Deals pilot featuring Domino’s Pizza. Various media outlets have covered the launch of the deals; they’ve showcased the benefits and highlighted the big brands who have taken notice.

SocialSpark Deals is an additional option for our blogger community to earn revenue and for our advertisers to connect with their customers all while promoting great products and saving consumers some cash.

“The social curation of this, people deciding what’s relevant to them, is what got me excited,” Ted Murphy, CEO of IZEA said “And the big appeal is that it’s coming from someone you’re familiar with, someone you trust. There’s less of a sales-y feel to it.”

Recently, SocialSpark Deals were headlined in PizzaMarketPlace.com, a site that features cutting edge (pun intended) industry-specific techniques and concepts for promoting restaurant business. The article highlighted one of our advertisers, Domino’s Pizza, and their strategic use of social media for consumer engagement through SocialSpark Deals.

still don't really understand these deals or how we make money off them?

I too really don't understand how I make money from them .. Kind of affiliate??

It would be better if you guys kindly work a little on documentation / help (for socialspark and IZEA)

i don't understand these deals and how we make money or if they cost us to post them.

I would probably be more inclined to use these if the ad sizes were smaller. Unfortunately, my blog sidebar cannot accommodate such a bulky ad format.

I'm with Cynthia, the ads won't fit in my sidebar and I can't figure out how to shrink them and maintain the ad. The side bar is the best way for me to advertise. :(

    Hey everyone!

We apologize for the confusion! Hopefully I can help. Essentially, SocialSpark Deals is an extension of the SocialSpark platform that allows brands to promote special offers of their products using our bloggers if they choose to participate.

For example, if you promote a SocialSpark Deal for Domino's pizza, a widget will be placed on your sidebar. It would be something like "$10 for $20 worth of pizza." The more Deals that are purchased from your specific link, the more you will earn!

Cynthia and Rebecca, if you submit a ticket via the 'customer support' link at the right of your SocialSpark account, we can direct it to the proper department and track the progress.

If you have any other questions, please email me at blogrelations@izea.com

I agree with Cynthia above. This ads are so big I ended up placing them all the way at the bottom of my blog where no one goes. So it is quite pointless as they are way to large for blog sidebars.

Yes, I would like to promote this product. I eat Domino' Pizza a lot. Right now, I do have some of the DEALS on two of my blogs, but like others have said, I had not choice but to place them at the bottom of my blogs. This is not a good place for them, obviously. I would rather place them on one of my sidebars or on top..

They could have let us chose what size of ads we want. not oh have this big sized banner and fit it any where.

I too am having trouble with the size of the ads. If I could just resize them to fit my sidebars, I'd take advantage of the Deals. they're just unusable to me in their present state.

do we pay for these deals or are they posted to our blogs for free then we earn money for people clicking and purchasing item. Just want to be clear because i don't make enough to be paying for these deals

I'd love to promote this...but it is not showing up on my deals page. ???? Thanks!

  13. ameliag said on 1.23.12 at 9:19 pm

Jeanne, if you submit a ticket via the 'customer support' link at the right of your SocialSpark account, we can help you out!

Becca, here is a link that might explain everything. http://socialspark.com/deals You don't pay for the deals, you earn money from them based on clicks =)

In regard to the size of the Deals, we apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely appreciate you bringing this to our attention! We have notified our engineers to look at this issue.

Will they ever have another pay alternative to Paypal? There are many, many, many who do not like them. This is a dealbreaker for me.

I like the deals. All those I have used work like an affiliate program. I haven't seen any that are "based on clicks." Rather, mine were all based on purchases.

Anyway, I concur with the ad size. I had to make the sidebar BIGGER just to accommodate the enormous images. Much too big and intrusive. Let's get options so people can choose a banner that fits THEIR site.
