Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: How are bloggers approved?
IZEA reviews each blog submitted to our system and screens out a variety of characteristics including pornography, explicit language and otherwise undesirable content. Those blogs that are accepted into our marketplace are “verified” and able to take Opportunities, so long as they meet the specific criteria set for by the advertiser.
- Q: Can I target specific blogs or bloggers?
Yes. You have the ability to hand pick bloggers, use rules to create blog rolls or open your opportunity to all verified blogs. At a minimum a blog must be verified in order to take an Affiliate Opportunity.
- Q: Can I terminate a relationship with a blogger?
Yes. If there is a specific blogger that you no longer wish to engage you may terminate the relationship with that individual blogger. You will be responsible for actions generated for 30 days after the termination, unless fraud is involved. Contact your account executive to arrange termination of a relationship.
- Q: How do I communicate my campaign details?
Each individual campaign has it’s own “Opportunity Profile”. This is a unique page that shows bloggers the specific terms of your campaign including offer amount, action type (lead or sale), ad units and any other information you wish to convey. An account executive will work with you to create Opportunities to be listed in the marketplace. Opportunities can be listed in as little as 24 hours.
- Q: How much does each action cost?
The advertiser determines the proper payout for each Opportunity. The minimum cost per action is $.50. The cost be modified up, but not down once the Opportunity has launched.
- Q: How do you track conversions?
Bloggers are provided with a unique tracking code for each display ad and text link an advertiser creates. When a visitor clicks on one of these ad units and generates an action on the advertisers site the resulting transaction is tracked using a combination of javascript and cookies. Advertisers are required to include a small piece of code (the “Tracking Script”) on the landing and conversion pages of their site. Cookies triggered by a click on an ad unit and remain in place for 30 days.
- Q: How do you track lead fraud?
Our tracking server has the ability to pass an affiliate ID for each completed form fill to the advertiser. This ID can be used to audit the quality of the leads being generated and provides a basis for dealing with users abusing the system.
- Q: How do I resolve lead fraud issues?
You have 30 days from the date of the lead to request an evaluation of a fraud claim. You will be required to provide form registration information that include all fields in the form, affiliates IDs and a time and date stamp for each entry. Leads that are deemed fraudulent will not be paid to the blogger and will be credited back to the advertisers account.
- Q: How do you enforce any special terms I specify?
IZEA does not guarantee blog policing for violations of specific opportunity terms, however many of our blogs do get reviewed on an ongoing basis. If our team spots a violation we will attempt to resolve it. If we can not resolve it we will remove the blogger from your Opportunity. Advertisers are encouraged to report term violations to our Customer Love team at any time.

SocialSpark Affiliate Opportunities provide ECPC, ECPM and CPA for the overall campaign. Advertisers can also see views, clicks, CTR and conversions for each individual ad unit.
